Ambrose Amberson Austin is the alter ego of Dr. Blamblo, a strange excuse for a medical doctor. They live in Brooklyn but spent childhood and adolescence in the scrub desert, dusty skyline of El Paso, Texas. Their common interests include: stethoscopes, nurses, booze, good coffee and irrelevant humor. You can read more about the misadventures of Dr. Blamblo at www.ambroseamberson.blogspot.com.

Printmaking

I have never referred to myself as an artist; "art" is too general and vague. I prefer to draw strength in the title of the work that I am working on. If I paint a canvas today, I am a painter. If I am well-known for my prints, you can call me a printmaker. The choices of our actions result in the titles we identify with. I am also a portrait artist. My work has been, is and always will be a discovery of transforming life, alchemy. Currently I am finishing my degree in fine arts at Purchase College.

Believe in yourself, and others will follow.

Ever since I was old enough to breathe on my own, my mom said I started creating works of art. As a young child, I was always drawing animals and made-up monsters. After drawing and doodling my way through the Texas school system, I found myself in college. I had never given it a second thought; an art degree was for me. Somehow my animals and monsters found their way into all of my projects, especially tormenting my watercolor teacher who was fond of florals meant for hotel rooms and bank lobbies. I did her assignments, my "Georgia O'Keeffe flower" just had a set of five eyeballs and fangs added. I learned how to paint like the masters and grew a huge respect for "the greats." My passion was still in creating monsters and animals. After graduating with a BFA, I focused on that passion. I have found great success and pleasure in pet portraiture and in the world of "low-brow" art.

You are New Orleans; the world needs your vision and strength.

Scuba diver, skydiver, spelunker, actress, model, stunt woman, horseback rider, bartender, singer, backpacker, traveler. Kristin makes art charged with the energies and effervescence of life intensely lived. Faces and places flash and flower in the dark or crest in waves of cosmic color. The lives of the streets, of voodoo in the cities of the dead, of jungle and jugglers, of sloths or soft shoe, of orange trees or trombones, of masks and music, of dance and dream all come together in visions of quirky love, healthful humor, of hedonism and courageous joy. Beautiful yet full of faith. Beaten but never broken. Hurt but ever hopeful. Kristin carries the cares of New Orleans in her heart and art, and she swirls them here in colored dreams for you.

You're standing beneath a street lamp on a sidewalk in Los Angeles, when you detect a shadow flicker behind you. Like an urban ninja saddled upon an antiquated bicycle, that subtle hum shuddering your guts is most likely Todd Regalado. En route from a bar, art gallery, 7-11 or a shoe store, Todd will have already blanketed Los Angeles' urban sprawl by the time you are eating your frozen dinner. Drawing inspiration from all walks of life, Todd draws life but rarely walks. With a predilection for street and folk art, culture at-large and a number of heavy metal bands, including Public Enemy, each discipline he co-ops delineates the space that Todd aims to create and confuse.
